Apprenticeship Resources

The Indiana Arborist Association’s Registered Arborist Apprenticeship Program is a three-year, paid apprenticeship for individuals in Lake, Porter, LaPorte and St. Joseph counties in Northwest Indiana looking for a career in arboriculture. Apprentices are matched with employers, where they will complete on-the-job training on a full-time basis. On-the-job training is supplemented with related classroom instruction from industry training professionals. All training time is paid and includes the mentorship of an ISA certified arborist. At the end of the program, apprentices will be eligible to sit for the International Society of Arboriculture’s Certified Arborist Exam.
